The Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is a statutory and autonomous body established under the Maharashtra Secondary Boards Act 1965 (amended in 1977). The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Education, Pune came into existence on January 1, 1966 to regulate certain matters pertaining to secondary education in the state of Maharashtra, India.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) conducts Class 10th exam and Class 12th exams throughout the state of Maharashtra, and students studying in the Government-run High Schools are required to give this examination for further Secondary Education, for which the admission is given on the basis on merit.
 Maharashtra Board (Higher Secondary Certificate) HSC Results 2015 will soon be declared by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), Pune. The results are expected to be out in the month of May 2015.
