Punjab Technical University (PTU) has 150 engineering colleges, 156 management colleges, 96 pharmacy colleges, 68 architecture colleges, 41 B.Sc MLT colleges and 42 hotel management and catering technology colleges, and 302 learning centers under distance education. Punjab Technical University (PTU) has taken new initiatives in technical education to provide latest trends in technology and give opportunities to student and faculty to interact with the technology leaders in the country including e-Governance to Punjab Technical University (PTU).

As of December 2008, there were 65 engineering, 6 architecture, 56 management, 26 pharmacy, 4 B.Sc. MLT colleges and 4 hotel management and catering technology institutes affiliated with the Punjab Technical University (PTU). Of these, four are government-financed, one is government-aided and the remaining are private.
